What Is a Weight & Workout Bench?
A weight and workout bench (sometimes called simply a “weight bench” or “workout bench”) is a piece of exercise equipment used for strength training and other fitness activities. The most basic — the flat bench — consists of a metal frame and legs with a horizontal padded platform on top. But that’s not the only option you have. Weight and workout benches come in a wide variety of configurations, including: Static incline bench, Static decline bench, Adjustable incline (goes from flat to various inclines), Adjustable decline (goes from flat to various declines), Fully adjustable (goes from decline to flat to incline), Specialty bench (e.g., preacher curl bench or Hyper/Roman Chair bench). Some weight benches even include leg attachments that allow you to do leg extensions, hamstring curls, and decline sit-ups.
